Biofuels Action and Awareness Network

We have educational events and activities throughout the year.

* UCSD Campus Outreach: table at on-campus events and club fairs. Earthweek is a big one with which we are involved each year.

* Elementary School Outreach: worked with Ms. Shumer's 5th grade at Valley Center Elementary School. This classroom got their district to use 100% biodiesel in their fleet!

* Middle School Outreach: present to Preuss School students about biodiesel and conducting science fair projects.

* San Diego Community Outreach: inform the San Diego community about biodiesel at Balboa Park during the Polar Palooza. A presentation was given to the La Jolla Rotary Club educating them about our organization and alternative fuels.

Collaborations

* BAAN has joint partnerships with the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the ACSSA, creating opportunities for interested students in research and design.

* Professors in the chemistry and engineering departments are providing guidance and resources for student involved in the project.

Past events

We were invited to give a presentation regarding the Greenline during the UC Parking Conference 2007.

Co-organized a showing of HBO's "Too Hot not To Handle" with a panel discussion in 2006.
