Biofuels Action and Awareness Network

This is a joint project with UCSD's American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) .

Our goal is to design and build our own portable 45 gallon biodiesel processor that will be capable of producing ASTM certified biodiesel from waste vegetable oil.

We have received approximately $3,500 in funding from generous Sponsors and have constructed a crude biodiesel reactor.

1. Refining reactor design
2. Developing ASTM-based quality testing procedures

The main components of the biodiesel project are:

1. Macroscale -large 55-gallon biodiesel reactor
2. Microscale -analytical testing, small-scale biodiesel production and reaction optimization
